Indiana EMS Leader and Golden Siren Recipient Honored with State's Highest Civilian Award
INDIANAPOLIS, IN - As the Indiana EMS Association (IEMSA) prepares for its annual Golden Siren Banquet, the organization celebrates the extraordinary achievement of board member Gary Miller, who received Indiana's highest civilian honor, the Sagamore of the Wabash award, at last year's ceremony.
The prestigious Sagamore of the Wabash, established in the 1940s by Governor Ralph F. Gates, recognizes distinguished Hoosiers who have made exceptional contributions to the state of Indiana. Miller, already a member of Indiana EMS's elite Golden Siren circle, joins an exclusive group of citizens who have received this gubernatorial honor.
"Gary Miller exemplifies the dedication and service that defines excellence in Indiana's EMS community," said Nathaniel Metz, President of IEMSA. "His recognition with the Sagamore of the Wabash reflects not only his personal achievements but also highlights the vital role EMS professionals play in serving our communities."
The tradition of honoring such exceptional service continues as IEMSA prepares to host its 2025 Golden Siren Banquet on May 17th at 5:00 PM. This annual celebration recognizes outstanding contributions to Emergency Medical Services in Indiana, inducting new members /into this prestigious fellowship of EMS leaders.
"The Golden Siren Banquet represents our highest recognition for EMS excellence," added Metz. "Gary's achievements remind us of the caliber of professionals we have serving in Indiana EMS, and we look forward to celebrating more exceptional leaders at this year's ceremony."
The Golden Siren Banquet, often referred to as Indiana EMS's "Hall of Fame" ceremony, continues to recognize those who have shaped emergency medical services across the state.
